PURPOSE: Equipping parents to guide youth through the hyper-sexualized culture. PROBLEM: Our hyper-sexualized culture tells children and youth they they have the right to be sexually active – as long as they use a condom. The reality is that research proves that youth sex is connected to many negative, often lifelong, consequences. HOW THIS VIDEO HELPS: When we think of the consequences of youth sex, there are many different consequences. Video #2 addressed the psychological, emotional, relational, academic and economic consequences. This video provides information about the physical consequences – pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. To better able to guide youth, this video, #2 and the next, #3, in the ‘Target Success for Youth’ video series, provides parents (and youth leaders) with the facts about the consequences of youth sex.
