Hamilton, ON – January 20, 2015: Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) has launched its Parent Voice Survey to gather parent opinions on student achievement, school climate, communications and the overall school experience. With the information gathered in this survey, along with student surveys completed last year, board leaders will have a complete picture of the on-the-ground experience within HWDSB schools.
“Parent voice is so important to the work we do in schools,” said Executive Superintendent of Leadership and Learning Manny Figueiredo. “Their perspective can help us see what’s working and what’s not working inside our schools. It will help shape our school improvement efforts.”
The results from all parent surveys will be grouped together and the combined findings will be shared with board leaders to impact the ongoing development of individual School Improvement Plans.
The survey is offered online at www.hwdsb.on.ca/feedback and will be open until 4 p.m. on February 20, 2015. For families without Internet access at home, hard copies of the survey will be available at their child’s school.
